The Crossing Borders Project is a traveling photography exhibit that gives light into the lives of the Palestinian People who live inside of the Israeli Sepreation Barrier that divides the West Bank from Israel and the rest of the world.

Susan conducted a photography workshop with three groups in the West Bank: Women from Aida Refugee Camp in Bethlehem, The Tamer Institute for Education Youth Group, and the Palestinian Working Women Society for Development in Ramallah.

The Crossing Borders project was to create an avenue for the Palestinian to create their own voice concerning their lives, rather than other people doing it for them. Susan distributed disposable cameras to the groups and asked them to record their lives through the lens and through text.

The project's aim is to move the exhibit from Italy to the States and then to find its home inside of the West Bank at Aida Refugee Camp in Bethlehem.

Do to the vast amount of emails from students who want to gain experience in the field. Susan decided to offer creative photojournalist workshops to enhance individual expression through the lens, assist with portfolio's, and develop in field experience! News and images influence citizens perspectives on issues, and it is the photojournalists ethical responsibility to report on events objectively and as truthful as possible. Susan's interest is focused on human interest and behind the scene stories, entering into regions where the mainstream media does or will not cover. She feels that it is important for others to view the reality of war and conflict, the effects that it has on the enviornment, and health.
